Where TrainingPeaks is stronger
- Coaching. Most endurance coaches work in TrainingPeaks. If you have a coach, it’s probably their tool, and kovaa isn’t built to run alongside a coach’s plan.
- Devices. Planned workouts sync directly to Garmin, Wahoo and COROS, and export to Zwift and other indoor apps.
- Analysis. The Performance Management Chart, peak performances, and 2026 tools like Analyze 360 and workout comparison.
- Platforms. It runs on the web, iPhone and Android.
Where kovaa is different
- It adapts. kovaa rewrites the rest of the week around missed sessions, illness, travel and how you slept, inside limits on how fast training load can rise.
- It explains. Every change is logged with the rule, the plan before and after, and the reason. You decide how much happens on its own.
- Apple first. Workouts go to Apple's Workout app, pool swims included, and readiness comes from Apple Health with no extra hardware.
- Plan included. $99 a year covers every plan. TrainingPeaks Premium is $134.99 a year, and its plans are bought separately.
- No account. Nothing to sign up for, and your training stays on your iPhone.

Questions
Is TrainingPeaks owned by Garmin?
Yes. Garmin announced it had acquired TrainingPeaks and TrainHeroic on July 22, 2026.
Is TrainingPeaks free?
There is a free Basic account for logging workouts and following ones a coach or plan puts on your calendar. Planning future workouts, rescheduling by drag and drop, and the Performance Management Chart need Premium.
Can I use kovaa with my coach?
kovaa is built to coach you itself, so it won't follow a human coach's plan. If you work with a coach, TrainingPeaks is probably the better fit.
Does kovaa have a Performance Management Chart?
Yes, in its own way. kovaa shows fitness, fatigue and form (the same idea as CTL, ATL and TSB) in plain language, and projects them forward to race day from your plan.
